Plastic drift
Discarded but once loved LEGO bricks
800mm x 400mm
SOLD
Bright, familiar, and playful, LEGO bricks are usually symbols of creativity and imagination. Yet when scattered across the ocean, they become something far more unsettling.
This artwork recalls the 1990s shipwreck that spilled five million pieces into the sea – tiny, colourful survivors that can be found to this day washed up along the cornish coastline. What once inspired joy now lingers as evidence of a deeper crisis.
Plastic never truly disappears. It breaks down into microplastics, spreading through oceans, soil, air, harming wildlife, carrying toxins, and ultimately entering into the food chain.
