Did you know that each year in the UK we throw away around 600 million batteries? Laid end-to-end these batteries would reach from the UK to Australia and back again! If not recycled properly, batteries release chemicals into the earth harming the environment. I wanted my art to remind us all of how important it is to recycle our used batteries, however innocuous they seem. We can all make a positive contribution to the climate by always recycling our batteries properly (usually via your local supermarket!).
