One of my earliest childhood memories is spending hours happily playing in the arcades with a handful of 10 pence pieces whilst on family holidays in Scarborough. This very likely had a huge effect on me becoming fascinated with ‘video’ games, and the thrill and excitement of instantly being transported into another world at a drop of a coin.

 

I’m still very much an avid gamer to this day, but those halcyon days of spending ten pence pieces until it was ‘game over’ and time to walk back to the B&B are long gone, but the memories remain.
