Stylised linocut originally produced for an exhibition of mermaid images in Reading. A reminder of how we are filling our oceans up with trash and threatening all the fish (…and mermaids)! Produced by Hugh Ribbans, an artist, printmaker and designer, best known for his linocuts and woodcuts, mixing heavily grained wood – often driftwood – and lino in his prints. Subject matter is largely inspired by the landscape, animals and birds, with a stylised treatment and much influenced by ethnic art and Hugh’s graphic background.
