Growing up, my family and I spent many holidays in Torquay visiting my nan and our relatives. My nan was well known for having a sweet tooth, and there would always be freshly baked fairy cakes waiting for us on the kitchen counter as soon as we arrived. That love of sweet treats has certainly been passed down through the generations, along with my nan’s well-known phrase, “Oh I shouldn’t really, but I will!”.
