Over 1 billion lipstick casings end up in landfill every year, with 95% of them being thrown away after only one use. The plastic casings can take 500 years to decompose and the breakdown can lead to microplastics entering our oceans, water supplies, and food chain. I am part of this problem, buying a new lippy can instantly lift my mood. So my art is to remind all those lipstick lovers to not be tempted to buy more – use up all the beautiful shades you already have!
