Autumn leaves rustling in the wind, a swirl of colours – red, yellow, orange and brown – and a crisp, crunchy gathering on the ground. To reduce energy and water loss, deciduous trees shed their leaves and transfer the sugars made in their leaves to their roots and trunk for storage, conserving energy and resources. Energy conservation is crucial to preserving natural resources and helping to protect the environment.
One tree can produce enough paper to create thousands of envelopes. Recycling envelopes helps conserve forests as envelopes made with recycled paper require fewer trees to be cut down. Using repurposed materials helps waste reduction and conservation of resources. This art inspires me to make changes, to save and conserve energy and to repurpose, re-use and recycle materials wherever possible.
